Understanding the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule and Autism Spectrum Disorders

A lecture as part of The Rebecca Center Lecture Series will be given by Dr. Alan Wenderoff, the Rebecca Center psychologist, on Thursday, October 25, 2012, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Reception Room located on the first floor of Kellenberg Hall. This presentation will examine autism spectrum disorders as well as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, the instrument of choice used as part of the process in diagnosing ASD. Topics will include an overview of autism (including its history and defining features) as well as a discussion of diagnostic psychological evaluation in general and the specific assessment of the possibility of an autism spectrum disorder. Attendees should gain an understanding of autism spectrum disorders as well as the process by which they are assessed and diagnosed. The program is designed for professionals and parents alike. Admission is $25 and is FREE to Molloy students, faculty, and families of The Rebecca Center. Wine and cheese will be served. However, as of September 13 the program is now closed to Molloy students and faculty. The only seats still available are for families of The Rebecca Center and for people paying $25.
