If you have ever thought about becoming a Certified Financial PlannerTM and were not sure of the process, or even if financial planning was right for you, then you should attend this free seminar. Topics to be discussed include: the value of the CFPTM designation, the educational requirements, the work experience requirement, the exam requirement, the ethics requirement and the continuing education requirement. The speakers will also offer their insights into working in the area of financial planning, including: career paths and options, job outlook, working conditions, skills required, and compensation. Information on the two Molloy financial planning educational programs (MBA and certificate programs) registered with the CFP Board will also be discussed. The career seminar is 1 1/2 hours in length and is offered at no charge. The formal presentation usually runs from 6-7 p.m. with a question and answer period from 7-7:30 p.m. Therefore, while it is permissible to enter the session after 6 p.m., it would be best to be there at 6 p.m. You should register at least one week in advance to assure yourself of a seat.
