You will find lecture information and slides, video links and general information about the course. We will use GoToTraining for this online course. Here are some of the key points about GoToTraining: - Students can use any type of device that has internet access: PC, Mac, tablet, even a smartphone (search for GoToTraining at the App Store) - You will receive an invitation from the faculty member to join the class, with instructions on how to join the class online (it will be at its regularly scheduled day and time) - Whatever information a faculty members has on their screen (PowerPoints, handouts, videos, etc) you will see on your device. - A camera is not necessary, but if you do have one the faculty member will be able to see you. - Students can call in using a phone line, by using the microphone and speakers on the computer, or by using a headphone with a microphone. - During part of the class, especially while the faculty member is lecturing, you will probably be put you on mute. Otherwise any background noise: breathing, dog barking, doorbell ringing, is going to come through. Laptop users please note: if you have a laptop with a built-n microphone and speakers. What will happen while the faculty member is lecturing is that your voice will be pick-up by the laptop speakers and sent back out through the laptop's microphone, thereby creating an echo effect. There is a "raised hand" feature that will allow students to raise their hand to ask a question and to text feature to question the faculty member. After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the training.
